Volunteer Positions

Irish Girl Guides has over 1,500 volunteers who take on a variety of roles in order to keep the organisation running. Most of our volunteers run weekly meetings and outings, as well as all of the planning and preparation that goes with it.

But behind the scenes there are also teams of volunteers who meet as committees and they look after training of Leaders, programme development, strategic planning, finance, communications, and lots more. It is the dedication of these amazing women that has kept IGG strong and constantly developing for over one hundred years!

Involvement on a national committee helps you to learn lots of new skills such as event planning, project management, goal setting and networking which may be useful to you in your life, career or educational goals. Support and training is given whenever needed and there are plenty of people to ask if you have questions. See our new committee member leaflet here for more info.

There is usually a 2-3 year commitment to get involved with a committee, and the amount of actual time and work involved can vary depending on the post. If you have some time to offer to IGG, or perhaps you don’t have the availability to attend weekly meetings but you would be happy to work online or attend meetings a few times a year, then we would love to hear from you!

Committee members needed for national Membership Committee

The membership committee looks at ways to sustain and increase IGG’s membership and works closely with the Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Committee to ensure that IGG is open to and actively encouraging membership within minority communities.

Fundraising Volunteer

Volunteer needed to help increase and diversify IGG’s income!

Do you have a background in business or marketing?

Are you looking to gain experience in this area?

Are you full of ideas and enthusiasm?

Our Finance Committee is looking for a new member whose role would include sponsorship, fundraising, and helping with grant applications. The Finance Committee meets 6-7 times a year, usually on Friday evenings, and works together via email throughout the year. National Office support with grant applications and other aspects of the role is provided by our Support Officer, Jemma Lee.
