IGG Resource Library

Do you know that IGG has a resource library from which you can borrow books on a variety of topics? The Resource Library is located in the Powerscourt Room on the first floor of National Office, 27 Pembroke Park and everyone is welcome to visit and borrow from the library. If you are in National Office for a meeting, training or buying in the shop you can visit the library and see what is available. Although small in size, the library contains books on a variety of topics relating to Guiding. There are reports from Guiding events like the World Conference, material produced by WAGGGS - the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, programme material from other associations around the world, material to help devise programmes on development education, health related information, song books, spiritual material and much more.

If you are working towards a module on a FETAC course or planning a Ladybird, Brownie, Guide or Senior Branch programme you may find the material of use too. You could be looking for information on Olave, Lady Baden Powell or want to read Scouting for Boys by BP and don't have a copy. You may want to consult a recent government report on subjects like bullying, gender, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, the rights of the child or a publication from the NYCI, the HSE or a similar body, or check out programmes published for One World Week, Lenten campaigns or IGG publications like the Sahan Packs.

The Resource Library is available to all Leaders. Material has to be signed in and out and can be borrowed for a 3 month period. The Resource Library is not staffed so borrowing can only be done from National Office. If you do not visit National Office on a regular basis, perhaps a regular visitor from your region such as your Regional Commissioner or one of your Regional Committee Representatives may borrow the resources for you.

The library is being developed on an ongoing basis. So the next time you are visiting National Office, do take a look at the Resource Library to see what is available.
